Physical Traveling Exhibits

WNYLRC has physical exhibits available for members to borrow and display in their own spaces. These physical exhibits were created using content from statewide digital collections in New York Heritage. Most consist of 4-5 roll up banners contained in easy-to-carry cases. Exhibits can be requested by WNYLRC members only. If you are a member, you must log in to view the exhibit request form. Please contact Heidi Ziemer if you need assistance.

James Ward Packard and his family were a part of the turn of the twentieth century and models of the advancements that were to come. They were inventors, leaders in business, and philanthropists. They brought inventions into being that we could not imagine life without today.  They invested in their communities and helped them grow and thrive in a modern world.

The U.S. Census is the only comprehensive or "complete count" of the entire population of our country. It is the only source of data for ensuring everyone has a voice in Congress. "Representative democracy" is the cornerstone on which this nation was founded, and the census is the tool used by the federal government to preserve equal representation.

The Erie Canal is one of the most famous man-made bodies of water in the world. Designed, financed, built, operated, and maintained by the people of New York, the canal was one of the largest public works projects ever attempted anywhere in the world when the first shovel of earth was turned near Rome, New York, on July 4, 1817.
