Description:
WNYLRC typically schedules 15-18 meetings every November to January with our local state legislators to inform them of library issues. We aim to have representatives from all types of libraries (academic, public, school, and special) participating in these conversations so that legislators have a greater understanding of how libraries operate differently depending on who they serve, and common issues affecting all library types, such as low funding and relevancy.
Join us to learn the ins and outs of the meeting process and tips for participating in the conversation and advocating for libraries of all types.
Who should attend: New and seasoned advocates who plan to attend any 2024/2025 local legislative meetings in Western New York.
This workshop is provided at no cost to WNYLRC and ESLN members.
Registration is required.
This webinar will be recorded and disseminated to all registrants, regardless of attendance. However, to receive a certificate of attendance, registrants must attend live and participate.
Closed captions will be provided for this webinar. We are committed to offering inclusive, diverse, and equitable services to all of our members. To request additional specific accommodations, please contact Jenn Northup at least five business days ahead of the event.
