Event Description:
Location: On the Darwin Martin campus in the Statler Cafe at 118 Summit Ave. The cafe is an old carriage house at the end of the driveway that is to the right of the George Barton House. There is a small parking lot for five cars, but most likely filled by staff vehicles. However, there is plenty of parking on the street.
This meeting is an opportunity for advocates of all types of libraries to meet with their state representatives to convey the need to support increases in library funding in the 2024 NYS budget negotiations, framing discussions in the context of "fund, protect, empower" libraries.
More information about library advocacy in NYS can be found here: https://www.nyla.org/4DCGI/cms/review.html?Action=CMS_Document&DocID=12&MenuKey=advocacy
If you reside or work in this district, you are encouraged to participate! Contact Caitlin Kenney and Sheryl Knab if you plan to join! Our hosts need to know who will be in attendance.
