Description:

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. 

Attendees will receive Mental Health First Aid training certification.

WNYLRC is able to offer a small discount to governing and affiliate members for this class.

Cross-Library Collaboration: A Conversation with Michelle Young, 2019 NYLA President

Michelle Young, NYLA 2019 President is touring the state to discuss cross-library collaboration.  She will be sharing what projects are underway in other regions.  To demonstrate what we are doing, we have invited Mandi Shepp, Erin Weller, Maria Lowe, David Lewis, and Ken Fujiuchi  to share the collaborative projects they have spearheaded with their committees or task groups. So take this opportunity to learn more about what your Western New York Colleagues are doing on behalf of the region. Lunch will be provided.
