Scope: Provide support and professional development to all individuals who are in a non-librarian position, regardless of job title or degree status.
Charge:
- Professionally recognize employees in the library and information sciences field who perform work including, but not limited to: circulation, interlibrary loan, clerical work, cataloging and metadata creation, serials, acquisitions, and IT support.
- Identify needs and concerns of library employees to promote both personal and professional enrichment.
- Provide professional development opportunities on topics related to support services, or generally of interest to those who work in support staff roles.
- Promote communication among library support staff in the six-county Western New York area and with other local and national support groups such as New York State Library Assistants Association (NYSLAA) and Library Support Staff Interests Round Table (LSSIRT).
