The Margaret L. Wendt Archive and Resource Center is operated by the Forest Lawn Heritage Foundation and is located at 2062 Main Street. All mail is delivered to 1411 Delaware Avenue.
The bulk of the collection consists of self-generated records related to lot ownership, burials, and memorials dating to 1849.
The collection contains surveys and maps from the 19th century forward, photographs, architectural drawings, administrative records, trustee minutes, books, and periodicals. There is also correspondence with lot owners, city officials, funeral directors. There is a collection of resources related to vanished (no longer in existence) cemeteries in Buffalo. Records relate to Forest Lawn, Buffalo Cremation Company, and Lakeside, Williamsville, and St. Matthew's Cemeteries. Also of note is collection of records of McDonnell & Sons, a national monument dealer located in Buffalo beginning in the 1880s.
