Job Description:

The Social Sciences & STEM Librarian is responsible for leading and implementing programs and services that support the full lifecycle of research and learning for faculty and students in Brain & Cognitive Science, Linguistics, and Psychology. With liaison responsibilities in subjects and departments that bridge Social Science and STEM disciplines, the incumbent will contribute to projects and initiatives that advance the River Campus Libraries’ (RCL) teaching, learning, and research strategies.

The incumbent will work closely with faculty, students, and staff in Brain & Cognitive Science, Linguistics, and Psychology to understand, anticipate, and fulfill the research and learning needs of these communities and to communicate key information about the library and its services. The Librarian will maintain and apply a strong working knowledge of specialized research methodologies and data needs unique to the social sciences and provide expertise to the Scholarly Resources & Curation team to ensure relevant and high-quality collections are in place to support faculty and students.

 

Qualifications:

Required

  • Post-graduate degree in library and information science from an A.L.A.-accredited institution
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others across disciplines/fields, with a team focus
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver research and instruction services

Preferred

  • Degree or coursework in one or more fields related to this position
  • Job-related experience in an academic or research library
