WNYLRC's Academic Library Directors Caucus was formed over 10 years ago. Members of the Caucus are the library directors of all college and university libraries located in WNYLRC's service area of the six counties of Western New York.
Although the Caucus has no formal charge, its purpose is to share information about campus library activities and to discuss current issues and trends facing library and information resources and services in higher education. WNYLRC’s Executive Director attends Caucus meetings to share information about WNYLRC’s resources and services and to provide a region-wide perspective on issues.
The Caucus meets once per year - either Fall or Spring depending upon scheduling. Meetings are rotated to different campuses so that each library can take a turn serving as the host institution as well as giving directors the opportunity to tour each others libraries. The Convener of the Caucus is the library director at the host institution and serves as the facilitator for Caucus meetings.
