Responsibilities:
- Manage the school library, ensuring it serves as a hub for learning, exploration, and collaboration.
- Develop and maintain a diverse collection of resources that support the curriculum and encourage reading for pleasure
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and information literacy skills into classroom instruction.
- Provide instruction in information literacy, research skills, technology, and digital citizenship to students.
- Foster a love of reading and lifelong learning through engaging library programs and initiatives.
- Stay current with trends and best practices in school librarianship and educational technology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of experience working in a school setting, preferably as a librarian or educator.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for working with students, teachers, and parents.
- Knowledge of educational technology tools and digital resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Library Science, Elementary Education, or related field.
- Familiarity with Common Core State Standards and other educational frameworks.
- Experience developing and implementing library programs and events.
